WHO IS THIS SERVICE SUITABLE FOR?

what to expect from your first appointment

  • Your initial assessment will begin with a focused conversation. We will take the time to understand your story, how your problem developed, what it is stopping you from doing, and what you want to achieve. We will discuss your symptoms, injury history, lifestyle and training demands, previous treatments, and your goals. This will guide everything that follows, allowing us to identify the true drivers of your pain or limitation and to design a clear plan that moves you from pain to full function and performance.

Location: 50 Rutland Road Neepsend Sheffield S3 8BD

  • The objective assessment will identify what changes your pain and what limits your performance. We assess how you move under load, your strength, control, and capacity, as well as joint range of motion and tissue tolerance. We use targeted tests to see which movements increase or reduce symptoms, allowing us to modify pain in real time and identify key drivers.

Performance-based measures such as strength, power, endurance, and movement quality are used to benchmark where you are now and to guide precise programming. The outcome is a clear understanding of what to change, how to load, and how to progress safely toward higher performance.

  • We will provide a crystal clear explanation of your assessment findings and identify the underlying issues causing your symptoms. Here we will also plan out your specific road map to full recovery and ensure you have complete clarity of what your journey will look like to not just fix your problem, but stay pain free long into the future.

  • At the end of your initial assessment, we will agree a clear rehabilitation and performance plan built specifically around your goals. Your exercises, education, and progressions will be delivered through our coaching app, including videos, sets and reps, and tracking so you always know exactly what to do. We will also outline what to expect week by week and the key markers we will use to measure progress. Each follow up session will include retesting to check that symptoms are changing and performance is improving, and your program will be updated in the app accordingly. You will leave the session with a clear plan of action, clarity on how to complete your rehab, and the support needed to progress safely and effectively.

Built in elite sport, refined for people who want more from their bodies

Our approach was shaped in high performance environments where athletes need to solve problems quickly and return to full function with confidence. This experience led us to develop a clear and systematic method that works when standard, symptom focused approaches fall short. We now use this same system to help motivated people overcome foot and ankle pain, get back to the activities they love, and reach higher levels of performance.

When athletes from Sheffield Rugby, Beardow’s Boxing, and ambitious people across our community need reliable results, they trust the FIT4FUNCTION approach. Our systematic method is designed for those who cannot simply wait and see. We focus on finding and addressing the true cause of the problem so you can get back to performing at your best with clarity and confidence.

We then build a structured plan combining physiotherapy, progressive rehabilitation, and targeted strength and conditioning to restore confidence, resilience, and lasting performance.

A System That Delivers Results

We combine effective hands on treatment with targeted, performance focused exercise that fits realistically into your schedule. Nothing is generic or copy and paste. Every step is designed to help you keep making progress while continuing the active lifestyle that matters to you. While eliminating pain matters, our ultimate goal is helping you move and perform with confidence. We don't just want you pain-free. We want you achieving your goals and enjoying life without limitations

  • In many cases, yes — but it depends on your insurance policy.

Most private health insurers will contribute toward or reimburse physiotherapy, but coverage varies by provider and plan. Some policies require a GP or consultant referral; others allow self-referral.

    At FIT4FUNCTION, we can provide:

    • detailed receipts/invoices for reimbursement

    • treatment summaries if your insurer requests documentation

Please check with your insurer regarding:

    • physiotherapy coverage limits

    • whether pre-authorization is required

    • any excess fees or session caps

If you share your insurer’s name and policy type, we can advise what the usual process looks like for them.
